A domestic disturbance at one of Walt Disney World’s resort hotels resulted in an arrest after deputies determined the situation escalated beyond a verbal argument.

🧾 What Happened

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Disney’s Beach Club Resort on April 12, 2026, following reports of a verbal dispute that escalated into a domestic violence incident.

During the investigation, deputies learned that a husband and wife, who have reportedly been together for over a decade, became involved in an argument inside their resort room.

That argument turned physical when:

  • The husband grabbed his wife in a bear hug
  • Both individuals fell to the ground during the struggle
  • The wife stated she kneed him to break free

Critically, two children were present in the room during the incident.

📱 Phone Taken to Prevent Calling for Help

Investigators say the situation escalated further when the husband allegedly:

  • Took the victim’s phone
  • Prevented her from calling for assistance

Both children reportedly confirmed that their father snatched the phone away during the altercation.

This action led to an additional charge related to hindering communication with law enforcement.

🚔 Arrest Made On Scene

Deputies determined there was probable cause to arrest the husband for:

  • Domestic Violence (Battery)
  • Obstructing Justice / Hindering Communication

He was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Orange County Jail without incident.
