☕ Coffee turns into a criminal charge. A guest was arrested after allegedly throwing an iced coffee at a 65+ year-old woman aboard the Magic Kingdom ferry from the TTC.
An argument aboard a Walt Disney World ferry boat escalated into an arrest after a guest allegedly threw an iced coffee at an elderly woman traveling to Magic Kingdom.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the incident occurred on February 28, 2026, around 1:00 p.m. on a ferry traveling from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) to Magic Kingdom.
What Happened on the Ferry
Deputies responded to Magic Kingdom (4601 North World Drive) regarding a reported battery involving an older adult.
The victim, Linda, told deputies she and her husband James were seated on a ferry bench while waiting for passengers to disembark. Linda uses a wheelchair, and the couple was allowing others to exit first.
According to Linda’s statement, a woman later identified as Amanda walked past them. During the interaction, Linda said something about watching her feet while passengers moved through the crowded ferry area.
Linda told deputies the woman passed them but then turned back and made a threatening comment.
“I could just punch you in the face.”
Linda reportedly laughed the comment off, but moments later Amanda allegedly threw her iced coffee directly into Linda’s face and onto her body.
A nearby passenger reportedly reacted by saying, “That’s an old lady.”
Despite the confrontation, Linda reported no physical injuries.
Husband and Ferry Employee Corroborate Incident
Linda’s husband James confirmed they were waiting for other guests to exit the ferry because of Linda’s wheelchair. While watching to make sure no one stepped on her feet, he saw the woman return and throw the coffee.
A Disney ferry employee, Aaron, also became involved after Linda approached him requesting security. Aaron stated that Linda pointed out the suspect immediately after the incident.
Disney security reviewed images from cameras at the ferry dock, which helped identify Amanda.
Suspect Admits to Throwing the Drink
Deputies later spoke with Amanda after she was brought to the Magic Kingdom security office. After being read her Miranda rights, she agreed to speak with deputies.
Amanda claimed Linda had been saying mean things about her son while they were on the ferry. She admitted that she became upset and threw her iced coffee at Linda before leaving the ferry.
Investigators determined Amanda was the primary aggressor based on witness statements and the physical evidence.
Arrest and Charge
Because the victim is 65 years of age or older, the charge carries enhanced penalties under Florida law.
Amanda was arrested and charged with:
Battery on a Person 65 Years of Age or Older (Florida Statute 784.08)
Deputies took Amanda into custody without incident and transported her to the Orange County Booking and Release Center.
Linda was provided victim rights information and indicated she was willing to cooperate with prosecution.
