👷♂️🚧 A construction fight at a Disney's Lakeshore Lodge building site turned into a full-on beatdown - caught on video. Deputies say the worker arrested for felony battery was the primary aggressor, and Disney trespassed him from property.
Construction Dispute at Disney Building Site Turns Violent; Worker Arrested for Felony Battery
A construction site argument on Disney property escalated into a violent assault on November 17, 2025, leaving one worker hospitalized and another in handcuffs. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 12:39 p.m. to 4600 Big Pine Road, a Disney-owned construction area, after reports of an unconscious male.
The injured worker was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) for treatment. When deputies arrived, multiple construction employees were actively restraining the alleged attacker, identified as Gerardo Ariel Caballero Velasquez. He was seated on a golf cart with a deputy and another worker positioned on each side to prevent him from fleeing.
What Gerardo Told Deputies
Gerardo, a construction worker assigned to the 7th floor of the building, said he and coworker Yosef Anthony Barrios had gotten into an argument. He claimed Yosef reached for a hammer, prompting him to wrestle it away. Gerardo admitted he punched Yosef multiple times while trying to take the tool. He also said he cut his right index finger during the struggle, an injury deputies confirmed, but he refused medical treatment and said he left the area to get away from Yosef.
What the Video Actually Showed
Deputies later reviewed a video recorded by another worker, and the footage reportedly told a very different story. According to the arrest report, the video shows: Gerardo pushing Yosef Yosef not retaliating Gerardo kicking Yosef in the leg Gerardo placing Yosef in a chokehold Gerardo throwing him to the ground Gerardo punching him multiple times in the head and back Gerardo forcing Yosef’s head against the floor Yosef eventually stood up and tried to push Gerardo away, but the report states Gerardo continued to shove him before finally walking off. Deputies noted no sign of a hammer in the video, contradicting Gerardo’s claim.
Arrest and Trespass
Based on the video evidence and statements gathered at the scene, deputies determined Gerardo was the primary aggressor. He was arrested for felony battery and transported to the Orange County Booking & Release Center (BRC). Because the incident occurred on Disney property, Disney security issued Gerardo a trespass warning, barring him from returning to the site. Deputies documented his injuries, and body-worn camera footage was recorded throughout the investigation. Additional reports from responding deputies were filed separately in the case.
