🚨 Domestic dispute at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort ends in arrest. According to deputies, an argument over finances escalated into a physical altercation inside a guest room.
Deputies responded around 6:42 p.m. on March 22, 2026, to 1950 Animation Way in Bay Lake after receiving a report of a battery.
When deputies arrived, paramedics were already on scene treating injuries.
According to the report:
- A minor child had a small abrasion inside her lip
- A woman, identified as Anna, had cuts on her fingers, reportedly from broken glass
The incident occurred inside a resort room and involved a married couple who had been together for over a decade.
Argument Escalates Over Finances
Anna told deputies the situation began as a verbal argument with her husband, Matthew, centered around financial issues.
During the dispute:
- Matthew allegedly took Anna’s phone from the bed
- He then attempted to break it, eventually smashing it on a table
- Anna tried to retrieve the phone, leading to a physical struggle
She stated Matthew:
- Grabbed her by the shoulders
- Shook her during the argument
While trying to recover the phone, Anna said she cut her fingers on the shattered screen.
Physical Altercation and Injuries
Anna admitted that during the struggle, she:
- Picked up a water bottle
- Struck Matthew on the back multiple times
Deputies reported observing:
- Visible red marks on Matthew’s back, consistent with being struck
- Minor injuries to both parties
Matthew told deputies he:
- Took the phone after believing Anna was recording him to portray him as abusive
- Smashed the phone during the confrontation
- Was struck repeatedly with the water bottle
Children Present During Incident
Two young children, both four years old, were present inside the room at the time of the altercation.
Due to their age, they were unable to be interviewed.
Because of conflicting statements and unclear details surrounding some injuries, the case was also forwarded to the Florida Department of Children and Families for review.
Arrest Made on Scene
Based on the totality of the investigation, deputies determined Anna to be the primary aggressor in the physical portion of the incident.
She was arrested and charged with:
- Domestic Battery
She was transported to the Orange County Jail without further incident.
