Suitcases in the Lake: Domestic Dispute Erupts at Disney’s Grand Floridian
Deputies were called to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort after a violent domestic dispute escalated into chaos, ending with luggage thrown off a balcony and floating in the lake below. Two parents were arrested while their young children watched the fight unfold.
The incident occurred on September 7, 2025. According to the report, the couple had recently separated but were vacationing together at Walt Disney World with their two children, ages four and nine months. Deputies noted visible injuries on both individuals, though neither agreed to medical treatment.
The argument reportedly began as the couple prepared to leave. The woman told deputies she returned to the room to continue packing while her boyfriend came back from the bar. She said the fight intensified when he spit in her face, which led her to grab his shirt. He told deputies she had thrown him to the floor by his hair and kicked him in the stomach.
A relative who was in the room separated them briefly, but the confrontation continued. Both parties said the altercation moved into the bedroom, where the woman kicked him again and threw an Alexa device, though it did not hit him. From there, the situation escalated dramatically as each began throwing the other’s suitcases off the balcony.
Deputies later found luggage scattered on the ground below and several bags floating in the lake. At this point, the woman called 911.
When deputies arrived, the argument was still ongoing. Additional luggage was discovered in the water. Interviews revealed conflicting accounts. The woman claimed he spit on her and grabbed her by the hair. He claimed she grabbed his necklace, scratched his face and neck, and attacked him repeatedly. A witness reported seeing the man being held down by his brother during the fight.
Deputies determined that both individuals had participated aggressively and that their injuries were consistent with a mutual physical altercation. Since neither could be identified as the primary aggressor, both were arrested and charged with domestic battery. The children were released to relatives, and the Department of Children and Families was notified about the incident.
