A dispute over a ticket refund at Disney’s Animal Kingdom escalated into violence Monday evening when a guest allegedly punched a Disney Cast Member in the chest, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
Deputies responded to Guest Relations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, 551 Rainforest Road in Bay Lake, around 7:53 p.m. on March 16, 2026, after reports of a physical altercation involving a park guest and a Cast Member.
According to investigators, the incident began when Crystal approached Guest Relations requesting a refund related to a ticket or multi-pass purchase.
Dispute Over Refund
The Cast Member assisting her, Charles, a supervisor at Guest Relations, reviewed the account and explained that the refund would be returned to the credit card originally used for the purchase. Charles reportedly even provided the last four digits of the card tied to the transaction.
Crystal allegedly told him she did not recognize the card and asked how she would receive the money. Charles advised that she would need to contact the owner of the credit card on file.
The conversation reportedly became heated as Crystal demanded the name of another Cast Member who had previously assisted her. Charles told her that, as the supervisor, his name was the only one she needed.
Cast Member Struck
According to Charles’ sworn statement, the confrontation escalated quickly.
Crystal allegedly pointed her finger at him and demanded he provide the employee’s name.
Charles responded by refusing.
Investigators say Crystal then closed her fist and punched Charles in the upper right side of his chest, striking him during the argument.
A witness reported that the force of the impact knocked a pin from Charles’ Cast Member uniform, sending it across the room.
After the punch, Charles moved away from the counter and toward security personnel for assistance.
Property Damage Reported
Deputies later documented damage to the Guest Relations counter, which investigators say occurred during the confrontation.
Photos taken by deputies show a gouge in the counter surface, with Disney estimating the cost of repairs at approximately $1,200.60.
The damage resulted in an additional criminal mischief charge, according to the report.
911 Call While Deputies Were Present
The situation also involved an off-duty Orange County Sheriff’s deputy working security at Animal Kingdom, who initially responded to the disturbance.
During the encounter, Crystal allegedly called 911 requesting different deputies despite already being in the presence of law enforcement officers investigating the situation.
Deputies determined there was no emergency requiring the call, leading to an additional charge of misuse of the emergency line.
Arrest
Crystal was detained by deputies at the scene and later transported to the Orange County Booking and Release Center.
She faces charges including:
• Battery
• Criminal Mischief (damage to Disney property)
• Misuse of 911
The Cast Member involved has indicated he is willing to testify and pursue charges, both for the battery and for the property damage to Disney property.
