Three individuals were arrested after deputies say they worked together to steal more than $1,600 worth of sunglasses from a retail store at Disney Springs.
According to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the incident occurred March 13, 2026, around 3:33 p.m. at the Sunglass Hut located at 1502 East Buena Vista Drive inside the popular Disney Springs shopping district.
Deputies say J. Medina, M. Medina, and E. Rivera entered the store together and each selected a pair of sunglasses.
Investigators allege the three suspects concealed the merchandise on their persons before walking past all points of sale without attempting to pay. The group then exited the store with the items.
The total value of the sunglasses taken was reported to be $1,647.00, according to the arrest report.
Suspects Located Nearby
After the theft was reported, the three suspects were later located sitting together inside a nearby restaurant within Disney Springs.
Deputies detained the group and recovered two pairs of the stolen sunglasses from the possession of J. Medina and M. Medina.
However, the third pair of sunglasses allegedly taken by E. Rivera was not recovered, according to investigators.
Authorities noted in the report that the suspects acted together and worked in unison while concealing and removing the merchandise from the store.
Store Will Prosecute
Representatives from the business confirmed they did not give permission for the items to be taken and stated they intend to cooperate with prosecution.
All three individuals were arrested and issued trespass warnings from Walt Disney World property, meaning they are no longer permitted to return to the resort.
Retail theft cases occasionally occur at Disney Springs, which serves as Walt Disney World’s large outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment complex and attracts millions of visitors each year.
