🚨 When Queue Etiquette Turns Criminal at Magic Kingdom A disagreement over line cutting at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure escalated into a battery arrest after a guest was allegedly pushed while trying to rejoin her group.
BAY LAKE, FL — A dispute over line cutting inside the Magic Kingdom resulted in an arrest for battery on February 20, 2026, highlighting once again how seriously guests take the integrity of Disney queues.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies responded at approximately 3:55 p.m. to a battery call at 4601 North World Drive, the address for the Magic Kingdom.
What Happened
Kyra told deputies she was attempting to catch up with members of her group who were already waiting in line for Tiana's Bayou Adventure around 1:45 p.m. She and her friend Angelina were walking through the queue, passing other guests, when Keith allegedly extended his hand to block her path.
Kyra stated she explained she was rejoining her party, but Keith continued to prevent her from moving forward. When she attempted to go around him, she said he pushed her back with both hands, causing her to fall into Angelina. A water bottle Kyra was holding spilled onto Angelina during the contact.
Angelina’s sworn statement corroborated that Keith placed his hand out and said, “There is a queue,” before pushing Kyra backward. She reported that when Kyra resisted being pushed, Keith used both hands, forcing Kyra into her and causing the spill.
Keith acknowledged placing his hand out and telling Kyra there was a queue, but claimed Kyra walked into his hand and denied pushing her.
Deputies noted Kyra had no visible injuries and declined medical treatment. However, based on the statements collected, law enforcement determined probable cause existed for a battery charge under Florida Statute 784.03. Keith was arrested and transported to the Booking and Receiving Center without incident.
The Bigger Issue: Queue Etiquette at Disney
Line cutting, or even the perception of it, is one of the most emotionally charged topics inside Walt Disney World parks.
Disney queues are intentionally structured environments designed to:
- Maintain fairness among thousands of guests
- Manage crowd flow and safety
- Reduce conflict through clear physical boundaries
When guests attempt to bypass sections of a queue, even to rejoin family members, tensions can escalate quickly. While some guests may view rejoining a group as harmless, others perceive it as unfairly skipping ahead of dozens or even hundreds of waiting guests.
What began as a verbal objection over “There is a queue” ultimately escalated into physical contact, crossing the legal threshold into battery.
Legal Context
Under Florida law, battery does not require visible injury. The statute defines battery as intentional, non-consensual touching or striking of another person. Visible bruising or medical treatment is not required for an arrest if probable cause is established.
In this case, the determination hinged on:
- Multiple sworn statements
- Admission of physical contact
- The allegation of a two-handed push
Why This Matters
For Walt Disney World guests, queue behavior is more than etiquette, it is part of the operational integrity of the park experience. With standby wait times often exceeding 60–120 minutes for major attractions, perceived line cutting frequently triggers strong reactions.
This incident serves as a reminder:
- Disputes over line position should be handled by Disney Cast Members
- Physical intervention can lead to criminal charges
- Even brief contact can meet the statutory definition of battery
At Walt Disney World, the magic may be orderly, but once hands are placed on another guest, the situation can quickly become a law enforcement matter.
