Are you thinking to yourself, Wait, there’s a Mayor of Lake Buena Vista, Florida? The very same area where Walt Disney World sits?
Well… yes and no. The Walt Disney World property is split between two small municipalities: Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista. Lake Buena Vista covers roughly three square miles centered around Disney Springs, including Typhoon Lagoon, Port Orleans Resort, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, the Disney Warehouse/Admin areas, and Hotel Plaza Boulevard. The four theme parks, however, fall under the City of Bay Lake.
But back to why deputies were called. According to the report, the son of Mayor Renée Raper told deputies he was attacked by his ex-wife at her home on October 24, 2025. He contacted law enforcement at around 4:30 a.m. the following morning to report the incident. He stated that while searching her home for an old cellphone their child had been using, Elaine became upset, jumped onto his back, and scratched him above the eye before chasing him to his car.
He said she later called demanding $150 and threatened to access his phone again. He told deputies he believed she was using the device to track his location and view old messages, and he wanted the phone out of her possession.
